Fun with family in Cali
We took a quick trip home to California to meet my sister-in-law and her two kids visiting from Oregon. There are a couple of givens when we go home. One, good food.
Two, family. This was the first time my Dad saw Oliver, his seventh grandchild. (Grandchild #8 is due in November and we will be tied 4 girls, 4 boys.) We also hung out with Brooke before she left for BYU Idaho and Brittany who is living at home and starting her new job.
Three, something unexpected. We had no idea that David's brother, Chase, and wife, Carly, would be competing with the BYU Ballroom Team at the National Formation Championships in Southern California the same weekend we were there. They came over and watched BYU beat Ole Miss. It was also their first time seeing Oliver.
Four, Disneyland. We love this magical place. My sister-in-law, Jen, wanted to use their Disneyland passes before they expired. We took the kids on the new Little Mermaid ride and some of our favorites: Space Mountain, Screamin', Toy Story, and Soarin'. It was pretty busy at the park, and lots of driving, but well worth the effort.
