Elder Holland's visit

On Sunday, Elder Holland attended our Santa Clara 1st ward Sacrament meeting.

One of his childhood friends, Jim Rosenbruch, has been called on a mission along with his wife Marianne.  Elder Holland came to support them and listen to their talks.  It was such a treat to be in a meeting with a member of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles.

He spoke at the conclusion of the meeting and talked about his love for Santa Clara.  He grew up in St. George and clearly knew many members of our ward.  It was so fun to see him greet them like old friends and called them by name.

It's hard to see him in this picture, but he is shaking hands with the members of the congregation.  Actually, the primary was suppose to be in the chapel to practice their program, but instead Elder Holland shook each child's hand.

It was only a few months ago that Elder Dallin H. Oaks spoke at our Stake Conference.  How is it that I see more member of the Twelve Apostles after I leave the greater Salt Lake Area?

Before Elder Oaks, the last time I was in the presence of an Apostle was when Elder Richard G. Scott came to Jerusalem.  I said it then, and I still believe it today, the eyes on an Apostle are unique. They are crystal clear and penetrating.  These are very special people.  They are called of God as prophets, seers, and revelators.

I'm thrilled my children could be in the presence of an Apostle and feel of his testimony!
