First day of school!

School has begun!  I can hardly believe it.  Yesterday was back-to-school night and Wednesday was the first day of school.  Ethan is braving intermediate school, Nataleigh is excited for elementary school, and Jacob will start 1/2 day Montessori and 1/2 day kindergarten next week.

When we asked Ethan what he was most looking forward to as school started he said, "learning."  When we asked Nataleigh the same question she said, "new clothes."  I think that pretty well sums up the difference between the two.  :)

I've seen a lot of growth in each of kids over the summer.  I am really proud of them and, yes, I still worry a lot about creating opportunities for each one to be successful.  It's an on-going challenge.
This year, however, I feel more dialed in to their lives than ever and that's an amazing feeling.

The crazy thing about school starting, is that there is so much of summer left to share:

Lake Powell 2012
Aspen Grove
Bear Lake
4th of July
Grandpa Larson's 100th birthday celebration
The Specific Carbohydrate Diet
August birthdays
and much more.

Maybe, now that the kids are in school, I'll have a little more time to catch up.  For now, I'm off to clean my floors while the older two are at school and the baby is sleeping.

  1. yea for school! I love that Ethan loves to learn so much. That is what Merrick will be like. Berkleigh is already asking if she gets new clothes, and how does she know that she has never been to real school before. :)

Can't wait to see your posts on all your other fun summer stuff.
