Lunar eclipse

Last week Chase and Carly came to watch the lunar eclipse. Apparently, the small town of Kanaraville, outside of St. George, was the "sweet spot" to see the eclipse, so people from all over the world (Germany, Australia) flew in for the event.  David and the kids went with Chase and Carly to watch. Ethan and I were still in Washington DC and were sad to miss the rare event.

I love that Chase and Carly are so adventurous and spontaneous.

If you look really closely you can see the reflection of the moon eclipsing the sun.  If you try to take a picture of the sun, directly, it will ruin your camera, so the best way to capture the event is through reflections and shadows.

The small circles around the edges of these finger shadows comes from the eclipse.

I have to admit it looks like some strange Science Fiction movie, to me.
