I really admire my friend, Samantha Johnson, and her Christmas season calendar. Every year she creates a calendar of activities for her family to do--each day--in December. I've always thought that sounded like so much fun. She does a nice job of mixing up big activities and not-so-big activities, so that it's not overwhelming. She plugs in things that she knows the family is already planning to do, and then adds some extra fun things. This year, I've set out to try and do the same thing. Every day, I want to do one activity as a family to celebrate the Christmas season.

Ward Christmas Breakfast
This is the only pictures I have from the breakfast.
That's because it was, honestly, a terrible morning for me.
I ended up in tears, too overwhelmed with trying to get Jacob to settle down in the crowded cultural hall, needing to get Nataleigh to her Nutcracker rehearsal, wishing I had written that Thank You note to sweet Marsha Lynne Gubler for inviting us to Thanksgiving, and hoping to get Bowen Hammer his belated birthday gift. Not to mention, feeling the pressure to take pictures of the Relief Society sisters. Did I also list that I had just had a fight with Nataleigh over doing her hair?
It was all too much and I lost it. It was even worse than Alexander's "Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day". Not even moving to Australia could help me.
What did help was a kind Visiting Teacher. Plus a nap, and eventually eating breakfast.
Momma said there'd be days like this.
Kind of a rough way to start the Christmas season.
