The Christmas Tree
The Christmas tree is a major symbol of Christmas. This year we almost didn't put one up. I had the decorating boxes in my entry way for weeks and could never make the time to assemble the tree and put on the ornaments. It seems there were always other priorities and we began to wonder if it was even worth the hassle. Luckily, we found the time one Sunday afternoon. We turned on Christmas music and as a family we 'trimmed the tree'. I held my breath when the little ones handled my precious glass ornaments. I laughed when the tree started to lean to one side, and I smiled when the kids put on their favorite hand-made ornaments. The best part was Jacob who kept repeating, "It's Christmas! It's Christmas". Then he would say, "Where are my presents?" I'm glad we finally made the time to put up the tree, turn on the twinkling lights, and make our home feel more like Christmas.
